Cross-link model. All cross-links can dynamically detach from and reattach to their microtubules. The probability of cross-link detachment or reattachment p=k/rfexp(F0/rf[kk0]) is a function of the detachment or reattachment rate k=k0exp(F/F0) and the loading rate rf. The detachment histograms illustrate the effects of varying the loading rate rf and the external force F in our discrete axon model in comparison to the solid lines of the analytical detachment probability p.
