REH cells were transfected with a luciferase reporter gene driven by the Meis1 promoter only (P), Meis1 promoter together with enhancer E9 (P/E9), or the enhancer E9 with the designated mutations (P/Mut1, P/Mut2). The mutation sequences of Mut 1 and Mut 2 are shown in the supplementary data S2.

B). HOXA9 siRNA in THP1 cells. Two HOXA9 siRNA sequences were applied to knockdown the HOXA9, and the expression of HOXA9 and MEIS1 detected by RT-PCR.
