The influence of growth and/or remodeling on circumferential stretch in the belly region. For both the aortic and pulmonary valve, growth and remodeling appeared to play opposing roles on tissue stretch and with time. Growth decreased circumferential stretch during early-stage development while remodeling lead to and increase in stretch, and vice versa for late-stage development.
