The main fluorescence patterns of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies in biliary atresia patients. ANCA detection by indirect immunofluorescence assays was performed on ethanol-fixed (upper panel) and formaldehyde-fixed (lower panel) human neutrophils. Depending on whether reactivities of formaldehyde-fixed human neutrophils were positive or not, p-ANCA was divided into p-ANCA with formaldehyde resistance and p-ANCA with formaldehyde sensitivity.
