Contribution of monomers and dimers of psbQ’ PSII in deletion mutants. Pure PSII was obtained from solubilized thylakoids of WT and mutant cells, separated on an AEC column by HPLC. Monomers and dimers were separated in a linear gradient and eluted at retention time of ~ 33 min and 36 min, respectively. It was observed that either of the mutant PSII elutes ~ 2 min earlier than the WT. The relative proportions of monomer and dimer were assessed (inset).
