Study design to identify serum biomarkers to predict chemoradiation responses of ESCC patients. Two serum sample pools from 10 good responders and 10 poor responders towards chemoradiation were subjected to TaqMan Low Density Array to identify miRNA(s) with differential serum levels between these two studied groups. Three miRNAs with most differential difference in their serum levels in good responder group when compared to poor responder group were selected for further validation by RT-qPCR. ROC curve analyses were performed on the three selected miRNAs to evaluate their predictive powers for chemoradiation sensitivity.
