Effects of simvastatin on the expression of genes encoding steroidogenic enzymes in androgen-independent prostate cancer cells (A) PC-3 and (B) LNCaP-LA. Cells were incubated in medium containing various concentrations of simvastatin. After 48 h, we harvested the cells, and the mRNA expression levels of genes encoding steroidogenic enzymes were evaluated by qPCR.
