The pair-wise variation (V_n/V_n_+ 1) was analyzed by geNorm software between the normalization factors NF_n and NF_n_+ 1 to determine the optimal number of reference genes required for accurate normalization in a given class of experiment. A value lower than 0.15 indicates that the use of additional reference genes would not significantly improve normalization.
