Extended VWT training strongly increased mouse VA. Mice were initially trained in the VWT to discriminate a vertical, low spatial frequency sine wave grating from isoluminant gray. Standard VA was determined after 18 ± 3 d (545 ± 88 trials) of VWT training; after a total of 66 ± 7 d (1987 ± 207 trials), long-term VA was determined.
