^a The N. gonorrhoeae wildtype and ΔbamE_GC cells were suspended to McFarland standard of 0.5, spread on solid medium, and allowed to dry. E-test strips with different antibiotics were placed on the top of the agar, and bacteria were incubated for 22 h. The following day, the MICs of tested antibiotics were determined based on the zone of bacterial growth inhibition.
