The last strand and Trp binding pocket of Mfa1 are involved in polymerization. Whole cell lysates were solubilized in SDS buffer and heated to: (A) 100 °C for 5 min, (B) 80 °C for 5 min, (C) 70 °C for 10 min, or (D) 60 °C for 10 min. The samples were separated on SDS-PAGE, blotted to a membrane and probed with a polyclonal Mfa1 fimbriae antibody.
