The protocatechuic acid (PCA) treatment reduces the number of degenerating neurons after a seizure. Three days of the PCA treatment reduces the number of seizure-induced degenerating neurons. Fluoro-Jade-B (FJB) staining was performed to visualize the degenerating neurons.
