The effect of L plantarum on TC (long intervention cycle). The 6 study selected probiotics for L plantarum. The analysis showed that the heterogeneity was large (P < .1, I2 = 81%). We divided the study into 2 subgroups according to the time of intervention. Figure 4 shows the results of the short intervention cycle. The pooled mean difference in TC was [MD = −1.56, 95% CI (−6.97, −3.86), P < .05] in the fixed-effects model analysis; this figure shows the results of the long intervention cycle. The pooled mean difference in TC was [MD = −22.18, 95% CI (−28.73, −15.63), P < .05] in the fixed-effects model analysis.
