The ability of trophoblast cells (HTR8/SVneo and TEV-1) to generate non-resistant spheroids are shown in Panels (A). Row 1 = Parental cells without treatment; Row 2 = Spheroidal cells produced from non-adherent 3-D culture; Row 3 = the ability of spheroidal cells to re-grow onto normal adherent 2-D culture. Likewise, trophoblast cells (HTR8/SVneo, TEV-1) have the ability to generate doxorubicin-resistant spheroids shown in Panel (B). Row 1 = Parental cells without treatment; Row 2=Parental cells treated with 250ng/ml of doxorubicin. Row3 = Spheroidal cells produced from non-adherent 3-D culture; Row 3 = the ability of spheroidal cells treated to re-grow onto normal adherent 2-D culture. Scale bar= 100μm.
