MV, but not stabilized MV, revert within hours to normal microvessels by way of glomeruloid microvascular proliferations (GMP) after VEGF inhibition by anti-VEGF/VEGF receptor (VEGFR) drugs or as VEGF levels decline over days to weeks in the absence of treatment as adenovirus is discharged stochastically from infected cells.
