GII-NTPase possesses proapoptotic activity, which can be further enhanced by Nterm or P22. (A) Effects of GII-NTPase or its deletion mutants on cell apoptosis, autophagy, and ER stress. After transfection of the indicated GII-NTPase expression plasmids into 293T cells for 24 h, the expression of specific markers for apoptosis (PARP or caspase 3), autophagy (LC3B), and ER stress (GRP78) were examined by Western blotting. (B) Enhancement of the GII-NTPase-mediated apoptosis by Nterm or P22. 293T cells were cotransfected with the indicated plasmids expressing GII-NTPase, Nterm, or P22.
