The natural host of HetPV13-an1 is H. annosum 94233, isolated from Poland (20).
n, homokaryotic (haploid) recipient strain; 2n, = heterokaryotic (effectively diploid) recipient strain. Genome screening method after virus transmission: si, somatic incompatibility; M, mitochondrial markers; M13, M13 minisatellite fingerprinting; RAMS, = RAMS-PCR with primers CT, CCA, and CGA. In all cases, the genotype corresponded to the recipient strain.

This strain was cured of indigenous viruses by thermal treatment (consecutive incubations at 32 to 35°C for ∼10 weeks), and HetPV13-an1 was transmitted from H. parviporum RK15A.
