Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure, muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA) expressed in bursts.min-1 and bursts/100 HB, systolic arterial blood pressure (ABPs), diastolic arterial blood pressure (ABPd), heart rate (HR), oxygen saturation, respiratory rate and respiratory amplitude were calculated in patients during 60 s epochs at different ICP levels: 8 mmHg (baseline), 10 mmHg, 15 mmHg, 20 mmHg, 25 mmHg (plateau), and 15 mmHg (post-infusion, i.e., 5 min after the end of the infusion). Values are depicted as mean ± sem. Statistical analysis was carried out using ANOVA.
