Locations of genes that exhibited decreased levels of distribution of the RpoZ-defective RNAP. The genes that showed decreased-level distribution of RpoZ-defective RNAP were identified by ChIP-chip analysis within six cryptic prophages of E. coli K-12 (Fig. 1; top 31 genes are in Table 3). Locations of these genes within each prophage are shown by blue arrows along the genetic map of the respective prophage. Decreased-level occupancy was detected in particular within CP4-6 prophage.
