Serological work-up for suspicion of latex type-I allergy or suspicion of polysensitization in patients with specific IgE to latex. This approach is not useful in patients with contact dermatitis and/or protein-contact dermatitis, where additional patch tests including other rubber components (e.g., chemical additives) might be needed (adapted from [18••, 30]). *In the case of positive sIgE to all recombinant Hev b allergens, testing with maltose-binding protein (MBP) ImmunoCAP as a negative control is advisable
