Roles of NPH3 and RPT2 in mediating phototropic signaling in Arabidopsis. The model was modified from Haga et al. (2015), where phot1 and NPH3 form a plasma membrane (PM) complex in darkness. Phot1-NPH3 interactions are diminished upon phot1 activation and dephosphorylation of NPH3. However, efficient signaling under continuous blue light conditions requires the reconstitution of a phot1-NPH3 complex that involves RPT2 at higher blue light intensities.
