The ratio of FGF10-UGSM to prostate epithelial cells changes the transformation phenotype. Epithelial cells were mixed with GFP- or FGF10-UGSM in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio. The cell mixture was implanted under the kidney capsule of SCID mice. After 8 weeks of incubation, the regenerated prostate tissues were harvested for pathological analysis. The regenerated tissues were analyzed for H&E staining and IHC staining of CK5 (red)/CK8 (green)/DAPI (blue). The 1:1 ratio of epithelial cells to FGF10-UGSM resulted in branched tubules, and the 1:2 ratio led to adenocarcinoma. Scale bar, 100 μm.
