ALAN increased oxalate in male nestlings. Raw data of the change in oxalate after two nights is shown for females (top panels) and males (lower panels), in a natural dark situation (left panels) and for light exposed animals (right panels). Lines indicate unique individuals; sample sizes: ♀ dark = 23; ♂ dark = 21; ♀ light = 22; ♂ light = 22 nestlings. In males there was a significant effect of artificial light at night on oxalate levels (t = 2.01, P = 0.048; Table 3).
