mTOR signaling in hepatic lipid metabolism. (A) The protein composition and key features of mTORC1 and mTORC2. mTORC1 responds to growth factors, amino acids, stress, oxygen and energy, while mTORC2 only responds to growth factors. (B) mTORC1 promotes SREBP-dependent lipogenesis through the phosphorylation of CRTC2, S6K1, and Lipin-1.
