5-Nitro-2-(3-phenylpropylamino) benzoic acid (NPPB) inhibits collagen I and fibronectin (FN) expression in human conjunctival fibroblasts (HConFs) at the mRNA and protein levels. HConFs were pretreated with NPPB (100 µM), lubiprostone (LUBI; 100 nM), or 0.1% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a vehicle control for 48 h. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot analyses were performed and the data shown represent the mean ± standard deviation of 4 experiments.
