Tumor cell apoptosis was assessed by TUNEL method. We evaluated the effect of STAT1 on CNE-2R cell apoptosis in vivo. As shown in Table 4, the percentage of apoptotic tumor cells in CNE2R, CNE2R-NC and CNE2R-ST was 10.2 ± 2.1%, 5.8 ± 0.6%, 6.2 ± 0.3% by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) method (P < 0.05).
