Micromolar concentrations of citalopram do not cause cytotoxicity, as indicated by LDH release from platelets. Platelets were incubated for 10 min with (RS)-citalopram (0–200 µM). Calcium-free Tyrodes (CFT) and lysed platelets were used as negative and positive controls, respectively (N = 5 blood donors).
