Effect of testosterone (T) on electrostimulation (ES)‐induced erectile response of rats. Penile erection was elicited by ES (width 5 ms, duration 30 sec., 2.5 V) of the rat cavernous nerve at varying stimulation frequencies (1–16 Hz). Erectile function was quantified by calculating maximal intracavernous pressure (ICP)/mean arterial pressure (MAP) ratio (×100). Values are expressed as means ± S.E. *< 0.05 versus sham or castration + T. **< 0.01 versus sham or castration + T. (n = 5 different rats for each group).
