Effects of LIN on hASIC3 and its structure. (A) Activating and potentiating effects of LIN, extracted from L. nobilis leaves, on human ASIC3 channels. LIN (1mM) was first applied at pH 7.8, and then pH was changed to 5.5 (mean for LIN‐induced steady current was 46.5 ± 7.6%, and mean for LIN‐potentiation of transient current was 253 ± 31% of pH 5.5 induced current). The whole‐cell currents shown in the Figure were recorded from the same cell. (B) Chemical formula of LIN. Atoms are numbered in agreement with earlier work (Guha et al., 1979).
