A 36-year-old man with severe, idiopathic constipation since childhood was found to have massive dilatation of a stool-filled rectosigmoid on computerized tomography (CT) scan ( A ). He underwent segmental resection of the megarectosigmoid, which was >18 cm in widest diameter ( B ), and has subsequently done well.
