The ALPHA-2 apparatus. The catching trap is on the antiproton beam line entering from the AD from the left. The main atom trap is located under the ladder-accessible platform which houses electronics for the annihilation vertex detector. The large dewar to the right of the atom trap contains liquid helium used to cool down the atom trap. The positron accumulator is on the beam line on the far right side of the atom trap, but is obscured by the dewars in this picture. (Online version in colour.)
