Evaluation of RpoS+ and RpoS− RASTyV strains during survival in extended stationary phase. Strains were grown overnight in LB medium that was appropriately supplemented before being subcultured into fresh medium and allowed to grow for 24 consecutive days. Cell viability was monitored by serial dilution and plating on LB agar with supplementation.
