A: Neurons were transduced with AAV-hSyn-LMO4. Spiking frequency increased significantly when neurons were exposed to light from an arc lamp (P < 0.0001). B–D: Neurons were transduced with AAV-hSyn-iLMO4. Spiking frequency decreased significantly when neurons were exposed to light from an arc lamp (B; P < 0.0001) and with application of 50 μM CTZ (D; P < 0.001), but did not change significantly with application of 0.5 μM CTZ (C).
