The effects of high glucose on Egr1 mRNA (a) and protein (b) expression. RMCs were incubated with high glucose (30 mmol/L glucose) for 0–24 hours. mRNA expression was determined by quantitative real-time PCR, and protein expression was determined by western blotting. ∗p < 0.05, ∗∗p < 0.001 versus time zero control.
