Interface incubation of human hippocampus maintain hippocampal organisation. (A) Hippocampal slices incubated for 0 and 48 hours from the same patient (patient number 12, no hippocampal sclerosis) stained for MAP-2 in red did not show any structural changes between time-points, (B) neither did the granule cells in the dentate gyrus differ between 0, 24 and 48 h from the same patient. (C) Staining for neuronal nuclear marker, NeuN in green, did not show any morphological differences between time-points in a patient diagnosed with hippocampal sclerosis (patient number 15).
