Flux confidence intervals obtained from 13C-MFA of individual tracer experiments and for combined 13C-MFA of all 14 tracer experiments (i.e. COMPLETE-MFA). The 68% and 95% confidence intervals are shown for six representative metabolic fluxes in central metabolism: oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (v10, oxPPP); Entner–Doudoroff pathway (v18, ED); citrate synthase (v21, TCA cycle); glyoxylate shunt (v29, Glyox); phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (v33, PPC); and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (v34, PEPCK). COMPLETE-MFA produced the smallest confidence intervals for all fluxes.
