(A) Washed platelets were pre-incubated with Tyrode's solution (resting control) or treated with 0.1% DMSO, 10 or 20 µM Ir-3. Collagen (1 µg/ml) was added to trigger OH· formation. (B) For the cell-free Fenton reaction study, 0.1% DMSO, 10 or 20 µM Ir-3 was pre-incubated with the solution, and DMPO was then added for the ESR experiments.
