Relative expression of mRNA in the hippocampus 6 weeks after bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) surgery. No significant difference was detected in the expression of angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT₁R) and angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT₂R) knockout mice (A and B), inflammatory cytokines (D and E), and brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF; F). As shown in Panel C, Mas1 expression was significantly higher in AT₂ knockout mice (AT₂KO)–bilateral common carotid artery stenosis mice (BCAS) than wild‐type mice (WT)–BCAS (n=5–8 for each group). *P<0.05.
