Different resolution of defined glomerular structures in dependence on deparaffinization. Without deparaffinization (A, B), only coarse structures are visible. However, deparaffinization and a short hemalaun stain allow the detection of nuclei of PECs (green arrowheads) and endothelial (red arrowheads) cells (C, D). By contrast, globally (E, black arrow) or segmentally (F, black arrow) sclerosed glomeruli as well as scarred tubulo interstitium (E, black arrowhead) can easily be detected without deparaffinization.
