Heterologous complementation in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain AdrA1f of diguanylate cyclase activity from single GGDEF and GGDEF/EAL encoding genes of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans^T. The rdar (rough, dry and red) morphotype [57], which is induced by diguanylate cyclase (DGC) activity was analyzed on congo red agar plates and compared to wild type (UMR1), DGC null-mutant (AdrA1f), DGC complemented (padrA), negative control (pBAD24 without insert) and a phosphodiesterase null-mutant (MAE 282) strains.
