Specificity and cytotoxicity study of BIND. (A) TAT-BIND did not suppress the neurodegeneration of CTG480- and CGG90-expressing fly eyes. Third instar larvae were treated with respective peptides dissolved in 2% sucrose solution for 2 h at room temperature. External eye pictures of 1 dpe CTG480 and 2 dpe CGG90 Drosophila were captured. The genotypes of flies were: w; gmr-GAL4/+; UAS-CTG480/+ and w; gmr-GAL4 UAS-EGFP-CGG90/+; +/+. (B) TAT-BIND did not exert toxic effects on primary rat cortical neurons. Data were normalized to untreated control and are plotted as mean ± SEM. All the experiments were repeated at least three times. NS, no significant difference.
