Wispy functions in polyadenylation of Toll. (A) Toll poly(A) tail length was assessed by PAT assay of embryos from wt and wispy mutant mothers collected at increasing times after egg laying. wisp^KG5287/Df was wisp^KG5287/Df(1)RA47. In wisp^KG5287; UASp-myc-cort/nos-Gal4, a Cortex protein containing six myc tags (6xmyc-Cortex) was expressed in the ovarian germline using the UASp-myc-cort transgene and the nos-Gal4 driver. The bottom panel shows a western blot of stage 14 oocytes to visualize Cortex. α-Tubulin was used as a loading control. Endogenous Cortex and myc-Cortex proteins were expressed at comparable levels. The dashed line indicates that lanes were separated in the original gel.
