Rhein inhibits the wound healing ability of A498 and 786-O cells in vitro.

Notes: (A) Inhibition of wound healing of A498 cells by Rhein. (B) Inhibition of wound healing of 786-O cells by Rhein. Wound healing assay was performed as described in the Materials and Methods section at 24 h (serum-free medium) or 48 h (5% FBS medium). The left panel indicated photographs of relative wound healing that was monitored by using light microscope. The right panel showed the quantitative results. Relative wound healing was determined by measuring the width of the wounds on photographic images by microruler. The values presented are the mean ± SD from three independent experiments. Magnification ×40. **P<0.01. ***P<0.001.

Abbreviation: FBS, fetal bovine serum.
