Fig. 5 — Proposed model of study on impact of leptin on melanoma growth and the outcome of dacarbazine therapy. Leptin modulates FASN and Hsp90 levels while resistin modulates Cav-1 and P-gp, thereby enhancing melanoma growth. Collectively, these events are responsible in part for impaired outcome of DTIC therapy. Inhibition of these molecules restricts melanoma growth and improves the outcome of chemotherapy
