Preventive mortality (negative numbers) was excluded in the AF-GBD method (only for CVD diseases and among men): for France, the minimum rates at ages 30–59 were equal to -1.23/100,000; for Finland, the rates at ages 55–59, 70–74, and 75–79 were -2.80, -4.20, and -13.94 per 100,000, respectively.

b. Cause-specific death rates for the underlying + contributory approach for Finland were not available.
