Viable infectious yields of C. pecorum IPA, C. pecorum E58, and C. trachomatis D strains after treatment with different concentrations of IFN-γ. Shown are the yields of C. pecorum IPA, C. pecorum E58, and C. trachomatis D generated after IFN-γ treatment of HEp-2 cell cultures. The HEp-2 cultures were pretreated with 0, 200, 500, and 1,000 U of IFN-γ/ml for 24 h and infected at an MOI of 0.5. The cultures were harvested at 36 hpi, and the numbers of infectious progeny were determined by measuring inclusion-forming units that formed infections in a new monolayer of host cells. ≠, no IFU were detected.
