Recovery from renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) alters airway reactivity. Rats were subjected to renal I/R and allowed to recover for 63 days outlined in Fig. 1. Rat tracheal rings were analyzed for constriction responses to increasing concentrations of acetylcholine (ACh). The maximal constriction response in trachea from sham-operated control rats was defined as 100%.
