Figure 7

3-MA treatment inhibited the activation of PI3K/AKT signaling induced by sevoflurane post-conditioning following the TBI.

Notes: (A) Sevoflurane post-conditioning increased the expression of p-PI3K and p-AKT more than the TBI group on day 3 following the TBI. 3-MA intervention effectively inhibited the expression of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway following the TBI. The activation of the PI3K/AKT pathway induced by sevoflurane post-conditioning was blocked by the 3-MA treatment. Representative Western blot displays the p-PI3K and the p-AKT levels. (B) Relative expression levels of the PI3K/AKT pathway components. Data are represented as mean ± SEM (n = 6). *P < 0.05 vs TBI group; #P < 0.05 vs TBI+Sevo group.

Abbreviations: 3-MA, 3-methyladenine; PI3K/AKT, phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B; SEM, standard error of the mean; Sevo, Sevoflurane; TBI, traumatic brain injury; 3-MA, 3-methyladenine.
