The sampled soil was homogenized in autoclaved water and serially diluted for incubation at 30 °C for > 72 h in 96-well microplates containing PVK with bromocresol purple as an indicator. Wells with no color change or strain growth, or with strain growth but no color change, were classified as containing unknown strains without P-solubilizing ability. Wells that produced a yellow color were classified as containing iPSB strains
