Each heatmap represents the spatial pattern of gaze aggregated across all participants (n = 466). The heatmaps are 2D histograms where the x and y axis corresponds to the horizontal and vertical dimension of the stimulus (respectively), and the color represents the amount of gaze data aggregated at each location within the stimulus.
